Re: WARNING!

So Rick, the Cabela's rub was after the brine and not in the brine solution? Can you tell me exactly what the process is for the brine process?

Re: 250 gallon first build-HELP PLEASE!

Thanks TuscaloosaQ-The flux core is definitely gone. I am running .035 and the 75/25. Would I be better off with the next wire I purchase being .030? Thanks for the input Gatewood Iron and Rick. Do you feel like you are still getting adequate protection with the 8? Hey Frank, good to hear from you. ...

Re: 250 gallon first build-HELP PLEASE!

Does anybody remember me or the build that I started? Well, I'm back! After neck surgery in June I have recovered, got a Lincoln 180 wire welder for my birthday, and moved all the parts for the build to my house. If I remember how to post pictures, I have a few. http://i1253.photobucket.com/albums/h...

Re: Opinions on the 3-2-1 rib method

OK Frank. This is the first time I have read anything about the toothpick test. What is that? Also, where do you place the probe to check internal meat temp on ribs? And you do bone down or up? Lots of questions, huh! Thanks in advance.

Hey KAM, thanks for your reply. I will give it a go tomorrow. And by the way, you did an incredible job on that set up you just finished. That is a piece of work to really be proud of. You are an awesome craftsman.

Hey kam, just finished a burn out on my smoker that had built up a considerable "cake" inside. Build up from improper fire-smoke. Would I follow your procedure for a new build?

Re: Project charcoal/smoker

That looks like a really nice project. Might want to get some input from some of the experts on here for size of the firebox. If you are smoking in both barrels, it's going to require some serious fire.

What about trying a test with two probes, one between the rf plate and the foil and the second probe in the same location but at grate level.

Re: 250 Gal Training Ground

Hey Rick, not a digital. It is a bi-metal, same type as the teltru. They are pretty heavy into industrial applications. Costs are pretty similar to the teltru. The main difference is the ashcroft is liquid filled. They say that should extend the life of the thermometer plus better accuracy over the ...

Thanks dcman. Not flying fast enough. It moves without much effort at all. Casters are rated at 1000 pounds each. I went with casters because I didn't really have a good place to put a trailer mount. Wanted something big enough to feed a lot of people. If I decide to go to a cook off of something, I...
