Re: cam-stays

good point big t! yeah i was just thinking of using them just to hold the lid open, not for an assist. of course the cW would make that part easier.

ill order them for my build and see how they work

cam-stays

Hi Guys,

has anyone ever used these to keep their smoker lid open?

seems like it would be a good option versus a big ugly counterweight.

Take some time to listen to Frank's podcast about using propane in a smoker. It's a very informative episode that will be well worth your time. He discusses risks and different burner options.

Re: WHADDYA THINK of this plan?

What are your plans for the inside of the CC? Does your baffle have openings at the left and right ends and are they sized according to the calculator? What will be your source for smoke and where will it be located? You are going to need a place to put a pan of wood chips for smoke that can be fil...

Re: Need Pipe layout cordinates...

here ya go: you can enter your measurements and print out a template to trace onto the pipe. Ive used it with success - I did have to grind a bit bc of my "shake and bake" plasma cutting skills. https://www.blocklayer.com/pipe-notchingeng.aspx

Re: Assembling a square firebox

You can score your bend lines with a cutoff wheel if you dont have a brake. It works very well! Very clean and accurate. Use a staightedge with your grinder and go 1/3-1/2 through the metal. WEAR A FACE SHIELD and PUT THE GUARD ON YOUR GRINDER. heres a vid, he does a great job. https://www.bing.com/...

WHADDYA THINK of this plan?

Hi! How does this plan sound/look according to y'all's experience and calculations? I've never done this before! I'm coming up with a plan for propane fueled smoker made from a piece of 18" pipe. I want a smoker that can hold 2 briskets, one on top of the other. The fuel and the upright design are t...

propane fueled vertical smoker build - don't hate!

Ok, I know that in some circles it's heresy to smoke meat with a gas flame, but this is the kind of smoker I want to build. I have no space for a woodpile here in the city with my 12x12 backyard (!) and I like the convenience of gas. I've had excellent results with my crappy home depot propane smoke...
