Re: Just a couple of questions.

Here's the latest, just got some chrome supermarket shelves for $5 each & cut them to size. Also, ended up using ally angle strips for the shelf supports.

Re: Can someone explain the pit calculator, please?

I'm probably going to use gas for my fridge as the frame of the fridge is wood & this way I can control where the flames are, but I've already had a few people ask about UDS or water heater smoker builds for them, which is why I originally checked out the pitcalc in the first place to see if I got m...

Re: Just a couple of questions.

Just did a flame test & it seem to be all good! http://i1284.photobucket.com/albums/a580/Betta_lover/image_zpshjkmnbzi.jpg This one was build in the 50's, there's a signature & date inside near the model number plate. http://i1284.photobucket.com/albums/a580/Betta_lover/image_zpsxtzwrwqs.jpg

Re: Just a couple of questions.

Oh ok, the only reason I ask is because the bakery down the road has aluminium baking trays.

Re: Just a couple of questions.

Wow, good to know, I'll give it a flame test this arvo.

Another question, is there any reason not to use aluminium inside the cook chamber? It will only be as the rack slides & the food will not come in contact with them. Same with galvanised screws?

Re: Just a couple of questions.

Thanks for the info & the head scratch, I've got some RTV on its way. f I can find something better than the gal for the chimney then I'll use that, hopefully SS, & same with the rack supports. I think I'll also give the copper a miss & look for some SS tube. The adhesive insulation is basically sti...

Just a couple of questions.

Hi all, I have just started a fridge smoker project & I have a few questions about the build & products used to do it. I have an old 50's Silent Knight kero powdered fridge, it's mostly metal inside. I have removed any plastic & will replace it with SS. I have a few pics below to help. *Can use adhe...
