Homemade gf mini temperature controller

Not sure that I'll even need this for winter but its always fun making a gadget for the smoker, it's all self contained and will mount directly to my 2" ball valve with a tri-clover type sanitary clamp

I'm hoping to give it a test run soon and will share the results.

With 36*f outside temp and 17 mph wind it took a mere 22 minutes to reach 225* after lighting charcoal. As far as performance I'm quite pleased, with a 225* set point the blower comes on at 224* and shuts off at 225* and overshoots set point to 226.5* which I'm sure with some parameter adjustments can be compensated for. As an added note my wife just discovered that I repurposed the cord from one of her many hand mixmasters to build this....oops

Thanks fellas but I think there's a couple different things going on here, first of all you are giving me way to much credit and second of all you're selling yourself way too short. I am by no means nor do I profess to be an electrical guru and I'm sure someone else has way more to offer, so with that said I can only offer what worked for me and it's really quite simple.

What is the temp range of the controller? Found plenty for CHEAP ($10-$15--even some lower!) but they only went up to 200 deg. My guess is the 3-400 range?
Did you pressurize the box and put your air outlet where convenient or was it plumbed directly off of the fan?

Controller Temp range is -20*~300*C/-22*~572*F and will display in either C or F, they come in 12vdc,120vac or 220vac I chose the 120vac. They are all relatively the same since most are made in China.
I did pressurize the box and yes I did mount blower where space allowed, I think with the box being pressurized and fresh air being drawn into the box it helps cool the electrical components within the box.
Have fun and most of all be safe when working with the 120vac side of things.

This whole smoker thing is great for folks like most of us that like to tinker and exercise (rack) our brains, these things are never done but merely a work in progress.
