Now that looks like a pretty serious unit. I guess now you will have to road test it and put up some Q pics...

Got my rig back from the blaster. Primered half of it, then a shower came. Sprayed a phos acid rust preventative on the rest to finish primering and painting this weekend. Image

Thanks Guys! I decided to put a rough coat of paint on her to protect the metal during the wrath of hurricane Florence... It's rough, with a lot of overspray, but you can see my general color scheme.Image

Good thing that you got something on it before having to get it blasted again.

I agree. I couldn't believe how fast it flash rusted. I had about a 26 mile trip from the blaster to home and by the time I arrived, it already had a shadow of rust.

Final coat of paint this afternoon. Painting is the most frustrating part. So many variables when you don't have a paint booth. But I think it turned out alright. Q view this weekend! Image

It looks great but I thought for sure that those initials would be red.

Ah painters tape. I thought the letters looked a tad rough but did not want to mention it... :D

The rest looks bloody marverlous. Take a bow, pat yourself on the back and crack a frostie... you've done well! :kewl:

Ha! Thanks bro. I don't have a temp controller yet, but I'm gonna grab a couple of oven therms and fire her up this weekend.

*final paint pics*
Postponed Q view to wait for my tel tru therms to arrive. I ordered two of the big 5" dial tel tru therms for my vertical sections.

The middle section will be monitored by the Maverick. I didn't want to install dial therms in the middle because it would disrupt the look. Thanks everyone that helped me with this build. It has been a long two years! Image
