Mmm, not always... Hedgehogs, newts, toads and some birds, such as song thrushes, love to eat slugs and snails. =))
As well as some French cuisine affecionados.

But I get your drift here... slow and steady wins.

It's coming along nice. you may want to use the bottom set of rack guides for a drip pan/baffle plate. i say that because grease will get into your fire box if you don't and it will help distribute the heat. That's what I did on mine, and you are mounting the guides the way I did so it will work well.

I’m working on mine as we speak. I made 2 brackets out of 0.5 inch to attach to the smoker. The shelf will pivo on one hole in the back and then lock into place with a set of spring plungers. It is pretty simple and the bracket will only extend out 4 inches when folded down. It’s still in fabrication stage but I’ll try to snap a few pictures when I get to the shop.

So to cure the paint the supplier said to get it to 450 for about an hour and then 600 for about 45 mins

Can I season it at the same time or should I allow it to cool down and do it another day ?

Prob not gonna be able to get the book chamber that hot very easy. Maybe use different paint for cook chamber? I think I'd do the seasoning after paint, but I don't think it will matter too much

To season it just spray everything inside the CC with a lite coat of cooking spray and heat it up to around 300 degrees or so for an hour or so and the back it down and throw something fatty on there. As for curing the paint, there's no chance of getting the CC to 600 degrees and it probably will not get to 450 degrees without warping something. These things aren't designed to run that hot and if you try to build a huge fire and force it to get hotter then you run the risk destroying your FB and WC.

Yeah reading what they sent was a bit unrealistic ! It rained on and off today so I only fitted the gauges and handles and started the mesh box for the FB . I'll follow the advise I get from here , so I'll heat it up for about an hr and a half and then coat the inside with a spray bottle of oil and then after half hr I'll put in a few bacon speaks . That's my plan I'm happy to change the timing and the meat. So if you would do something differant please tell me and I'll change my plan.
