Second build

Post by bairboy » December 14th, 2018, 1:32 am

It’s been a while since I posted anything. I have built a second smoker she cooks amazing. My first smoker was a 500 gallon I figured it was to big so I sold it and built a smaller one. I miss the space so I’m adding to this one a warming cabinet, which I plan to cook with. I have ordered insulation. I’m going to insulate the firebox then build the cabinet. I have stripped it down and cut off the end of the tank. I need to polish her up a bit and wait for the insulation.

Progress. I am still waiting on my insulation. I have cut out most the cabinet will weld together as soon as I get the insulation. I also need to go purchase a piece of steel.

I am wrapping the firebox so I’ve got 3 inches bigger to accommodate for that you can see from the top plate

Looking good so far... even if it is hanging from the ceiling. :D

I'm guessing it's the way you hold the phone when taking pics. Try different rotations and see if that helps.

I am now able to smoke in the main cook chamber. Then continue to work on the WC. Tomorrow I get to go pick up the rest of the steel. The door is big so I have to buy a half sheet of quarter inch plate to be able to cut it out. Then I just need to build the shelves and will be able to cook for more than 100+ people that’s the goal. I could only get 65-70 before the add on. 🙂I sure love bbq.
