I think it will work great actually. The wide end will sit to load both the CC and WC. The narrow end will be out from the CC and still hold trays. And the door went sideways with the trim. I gave up lol.hogaboomer wrote:That's a beautiful piece of wood, doesn't seem all that practical, though. What happened to the door???
Lavarock firebox gaskets. Not understanding why it won't seal? Newbie mindset here.Dirtytires wrote:Understand the frustration on the doors, they can take a lot of time to get right. What are you using to seal up it up as your gasket isn’t going to do the job.
Gasket all the way around. We put a bright LED work light inside and there is only a few spots that had a bit of light shining thru. Perhaps its my years of working with pressure equipment that makes me take a lax outlook on this atmospheric vessel lol. I'm not to concerned at this point. Worst case I have a new piece of plate rolled and try it again lol.hogaboomer wrote:Does it have that big gap on bottom? I would try to pull it in and weld some gussets in.
It has gap but i bought thick gasket and it all around the door. Then we added to the cook chamber near bottom to completely seal. Things were tight before we added the gasket. I was gonna cut the hinges and see of that helped. But decided I didnt care lol.hogaboomer wrote:I've come to the conclusion that things don't necessarily have to be totally airtight. None of mine are, and they cook and smoke just fine. I guess maybe the picture makes that gap look worse than it actually is.
