My counter was dropped off today. Live edge elm. Also got a look at the many handles. ImageImage

That's a beautiful piece of wood, doesn't seem all that practical, though. What happened to the door???

I think it will work great actually. The wide end will sit to load both the CC and WC. The narrow end will be out from the CC and still hold trays. And the door went sideways with the trim. I gave up lol.

My handles were dropped off today. The double one is both handles for the cooker in one stand off, the guy who CNC'd my standoffs too long. I was trying to figure out where I want the handles to sit. ImageImageImage

Those handles are sweet!

I pretty much hate working on doors.

Understand the frustration on the doors, they can take a lot of time to get right. What are you using to seal up it up as your gasket isn’t going to do the job.

Lavarock firebox gaskets. Not understanding why it won't seal? Newbie mindset here.

It looks to far bent to seal with just gaskets. Are you going to use spring clamps or something to suck it back in and tight?

Does it have that big gap on bottom? I would try to pull it in and weld some gussets in.

Gasket all the way around. We put a bright LED work light inside and there is only a few spots that had a bit of light shining thru. Perhaps its my years of working with pressure equipment that makes me take a lax outlook on this atmospheric vessel lol. I'm not to concerned at this point. Worst case I have a new piece of plate rolled and try it again lol.

I've come to the conclusion that things don't necessarily have to be totally airtight. None of mine are, and they cook and smoke just fine. I guess maybe the picture makes that gap look worse than it actually is.

It has gap but i bought thick gasket and it all around the door. Then we added to the cook chamber near bottom to completely seal. Things were tight before we added the gasket. I was gonna cut the hinges and see of that helped. But decided I didnt care lol.

The Fox has all handle but the ones for the CC. Dampers are done as well. Missing a pic of the baffle tuning plate handle/adjusting rod out the front of the CC. Also got 2 of the 4 remain grates made. Here's to first fire this coming weekend!

Needs the two extra temp gauges, stronger pull handle and a removable log warming rack under the firebox and its a wrap!! Counter weight will be added later one, door isn't that terribly heavy. Counterweight is more of a tribute, a silver fox cnc cut from heavy stainless plate.

Wide angle pic distorts the CC door, it's not that wacky lol. ImageImage

First fire is this weekend to test run it. It's also gonna be a balmy -41°C wind chill grrr! Mild all week and falls of the charts Friday night.

And thanks on the mod comment. I didn't understand why I would want to walk around to use it. And it's deeper this was to!
