So why Linseed oil instead of high temp paint?
BLO is an old timey coating for steel, to stop rust. It's also used to finish wood. I guess the main reason to use it is for a rustic appearance, rather than a fancy looking paint job. It comes already boiled, you can buy it at most any hardware store, and it's cheap. It is easy to maintain, but one drawback is it has a tendency to yellow over time.FredyzBBQ wrote: ↑May 6th, 2021, 9:20 pmSo why Linseed oil instead of high temp paint?
Appearance?
Ease of maintenance?
Or other reasons?
And where do you buy it, hardware or grocery?
Is it boiled before purchase?
What if you can't find it boiled? How does it differ for you to make the choice of boiled?
I never heard of it's use on a grill till I joined this forum.
