i got the temp gauges in, i lit ta fire in it after i got this far, used some pecan twigs and pecan chunks, i got excited and needed to see smoke come out of stack, the temp wasnt coming up but 10 degrees over air temp, then i looked in fire box and seen i had damper closed to cc, after i opened it took 7 minutes to get to 250, Image..... Rick, the hinges on fb door i designed, or in my term, threw together lol,

I like that door DB, everything is coming along nicely. That paint is a devil to get off those cookers aren't they. How have you been removing yours???? I tried to get someone to sandblast mine but the knucklehead never called me back. I hope he does not need any welding in the near future!!!!!!!!

I'm a huge fan of knuckleheads calling me back

wait ... DANGIT TQ! ... lost my place ...

Anyway, sandblasting is the "A" answer - no chemicals involved and nothing left but metal ... easy to spot/fix imperfections (my work is always covered with them) and you'll be real happy with the paint job sticking good too ... :)

Mac, thanks, i had the door and airflow waterjetted out, i had a customer come in the shop that has a waterjet business, he supplied the 1/4 plate and did the job for 70 bucks, i couldnt resist, i think i will have to open the tolerance a little but will see when i get some more heat in it,,,,, thanks TQ, so far i have just been using a scraper to get paint off, i checked with a blaster yesterday and think that is gonna be what i do, i have spent more then anticipated, i,m sure no one else has done that =)) , so now i am trying to watch what i spend, but finish is what everyone sees so i will probably blast it. Rick, it looks like Edna is powder coated, not sure and if it is, was it much to have done? thanks frank, got lots of good ideas from you guys, so thanks again for coming up with this site. S1, thanks alot, it has been fun doing project.....

Edgar is insulated then powder-coated and clear-coated. $116 for that but they kinda owed me a favor so prolly figure $200. Only 400 degree rating so be careful...

Looks awesome....

There is one tiny little thing that I see.

The tires and wheels are a little on the small side. I only say this since I looked at the patio that Frank just let out of the bag.
