another build with a different approach

Post by TuscaloosaQ » September 27th, 2012, 8:56 pm

started another 250 trailer build but took a different approach
Image

Image

Image

firebox and warmer were cut out different / saving some welds

Image

we decide to strap our doors with diamond plate it is 1/8" think not counting the diamonds and I think it addeda little twist I like Tyler likes it and the customer hopefully will like it

Image

Guys I apoogize my pictures got out of sequence and I aint about to change them for nothing

Image

Image

The color of the trailer is crimson just like the crimson tide " ROLL TIDE ROLL" Solo I will be more than happy to paint yours this color =)) :o

Image

Image

Image

top strap s on and hinges are welded out

Image

fixing to make fire box and warmer fit to cook chamber

decided to go ahead and cut out smily face then make fit to cook chamber... if your measurements are right my theroy was it wil lfit like a glove. the other option was to reach through the door and make the cut once the fit was made. NOT NOT NOT !!!!!

I am a huge fan of the intake being in the end of the firebox it is easily accessible, easy to use and you get excellent air flow. I will never waver from this I am totally sold on this concept

I am truly sorry for the fouled up post my pics got out of sequence and the last time i tried to correct it I deleted them all never again. The customer will pick up tomorrow and I am hoping he will be happy. our other cookers are performing excellent and I expect nothing less from this one

TQ that rig looks great!

I think you must have framed out your main CC doors with diamond plate - once the paint hit those they really 'pop' - me likes a lot - thanks for that idea - sort of gives it a 'stitched' look in that last pic ... the picture that's NOT out of order lol :D

And on the eighth day God created barbecue …. because he DOES love us and he wants us to be happy. :D

I like the piggy door stops :kewl: ... is that gonna be your signature logo? I was kinda waiting on the grazing elephants to start sprouting up :D Y'all can take on the name Bama-Que (never seen it to date) I might need to drag pops back over to get a rear intake installed. No doubt that is the best utilization of air flow. Maybe deep winter if your orders slow down a bit.

If it can't be smoked .... try frying it. It that don't work, it's probably best just left alone

Thanks everyone for the nice comments. I am constantly trying to inhance my cookers I think as far as performance I am there. Solo This style cooker will be called our signature series, then there will be a signatue deluxe, not built yet still in the works. Solo Q Bring your cooker down anytime the rear intake is a 1 hour fix no problem at all. I am fixing to have both hands operated on (Carpel Tunnel) Dr Lawerence Lemak in B'ham will do the surgery I do not know how I am gonna do nothing it is gonna be very hard to sit still without getting my hands in something

Thanks for the nice comments rodcrafter and Smoker Tom, I really like the diamond plate strips around the dooor for trim they really held there shape after being rolled around the door and welded. My theroy is the diamond plate is stiffer and more better.... The more I see it the better i like it myself. Hey isn't it all about helping one another and getting ideas from everyone and combining them and turning them into a project. basically what I am saying every build every project contributes to the big picture, everyone is a valuable assest. I will give Kam Kudos he helped me as far as the dynamics of my 250 builds and he was spot on.

That is a very nice looking build. :LG:
I would like to know what type clamps you are using on the doors to keep them closed. I would like to put some on mine.
