:LG:

Good job fellas! I had told my wife the smoker I was building was going to be a patio build. When she heard me tell a buddy of mine it weighs about 2000 lbs she said that thing is NOT going to be in our back yard. I just can't understand her sometimes.. hehehe

I don't seem to do small stuff. I really like them, I'm sure it is a mental issue.

RodCrafter, OkieCooker, Busman- Thanks! I have seen the hatchet idea on many builds and just plain liked it so I stole it lol.

I know this thread is a year old but this is the same kinda build that I am doing... The propane tank is called a "D" tank.. It's a 125 gallon tank. I have a friend that works for Ferrellgas and got mine for free.. Nice build!

I just re-read this and the warming plate on top of the FB is a great idea. How well does it work? Are we talking boiling or just keeping sauce thin for basting? :-B

I've been thinking about one except I wanted a COLD plate up there.

I've learnt over the past few years of cookin "Q" that nearly every time I tend the fire I will absent-mindedly reach to lay my gloves down at that very spot - or flashlight, or plastic coffee cup - you get the idea but so far I've caught myself before everything turned gooey. Has anyone ever tried making a COLD shelf on top of the FB? …. maybe out of wood on stand-offs, expanded steel or something that would stay relatively cold? :D

And on the eighth day God created barbecue …. because he DOES love us and he wants us to be happy. :D

Puff I think RC said his build was going to weigh 2000lbs, there's no way this build weighs a ton.

Oops Read that one wrong. I'm amazed how much mine is turning out to be, if that weighed a ton, I'm in real trouble
