Thanks Smoke1, as long as my garage heater holds out I hope to fire it up this weekend... Trailer won't be done but I figure I can build the wood rack, storage, etc. down the road

You guys ever feel like you work just to come home and work... It's been a long week, 62 hrs as of 4pm today... Home to eat and then back to the smoker...tomorrow another 10 at work.. I'm pooped but at least I'm ready to cook. Finished counter weights tonight and made baffle drain

Can you post a pic of the air inlets on the fire box. I think I need to steal this idea. Haven't seen this before and I like it! I'm also looking to use a crow bar that belonged to my father in law. Love to see how different things work for many purposes.

Doesn't the other end of the "C"-clamp get in the way of the fire on the other side?

Dangit Rick,,,,, I was gonna ask how big of a hole it took to get the rest of the c clamp in there,

Good looking rig there, I love the 45 degree on the stack. Gives it the sophisticated look.

2hrs in and it's at 240 and 230

And no white smoke... First hour had a lot. This is my first time to run a smoker this size so I was worried about that

So far I started with a chimney full of kingsford in the center of about 5lbs of charcoal, added to splits at 1 hr mark and fixing to add two more...does that sound about right to you guys?

Sounds right to me Brew. They are all different, but that is the norm. I would pre heat my splits before throwing them on.

By the way, that turned out great!
