?s about future patio build

Post by HookedOnQ » May 24th, 2013, 9:35 pm

I have the chance to pickup two high pressure air tanks from work for free the tank size is 43 inches weld to weld 50 inches total length and 17 inches across.. I think they are around 47gals.. What is the best route to go with this size tank? Reverse flow or center feed our maybe even standard offset? Our shoud i just wait for something bigger to come up. I plan on building a larger reverse flow later on down the road but figured since i have these tanks why not do something with them. Has anyone ealse here done a build this size? Im open too all opinions guys. Thanks in advance

You could do any of those. That size would make a great patio size cooker.
MTF did one as a reverse flow.

BBQ is just smoke and beers!
Usually more beers than smoke.

:welcome: :welcome: HOQ, just got done doing a 100lb tank, it is a reverse flow I know the diameter is 16in. Lenght off top of head was 48in. It went to Texan here in Phoenix thats loves to cook briskets. You can check out the build on here, I dont know how to get you there, Dcman could probably direct you to it, it is pretty much from start to finish. Hope that helps and welcome again.

Thanks guys for the help! Duane b i found your thread on your 100lb build awesome work man thats a lot like what i plan on building. I was a little concerned about it only being 17inches across but i think you guys have confirmed that its not a problem so im going to move forward with planing my build. I also think im going to go reverse flow since it seems to be the ticket for every one ealse and from the research i have done i think will work best for me
