RF project in the planning stage

Post by GV/Welder » May 26th, 2013, 9:07 pm

Does anyone out there have any pics of the inside of a lang cook chamber, firebox, warmer. From all the info I've gathered a smoker like the lang is the design I'm looking for. Please any help will be greatly appreciated. I really like the lang 84" but it would not be in my budget for quiet some time.
Thanks GV/Welder

Very simply put langs are no different from most reverse flow smokers. You have a firebox a firebox to cook chamber opening a gap at the end of the baffle plate to cook chamber. They call the baffle plate a griddle it is nothing more than a baffle plate. Go to the pit calculator type in your dimensions and..... Hoop there it is !!! Simply put from that point on it Is up to the fabricator to do his thing. There is plenty of help here ask away and look at pics every cooker me and Tyler build perform excellent and I have tons of testimonials to back it up. It is not rocket science at all and I am sure you can do it!!!!!!

I'm trying to use the pit calculator. Is there a calculator that will help me with determine firebox size and opening, stack size, how much room to leave at the end of the baffle plate, etc. or am I just not using this one correctly. I am new to this so don't be too hard on me. I'm starting with a 250 gal. Propane tank, that should be Available within the next month. I'm just trying to gather all info I can while I'm gathering materials.
Thanks for the help,
GV/Welder

Gv I would stop my plate at the round weld seam opposite the firebox if you are leaving that bell end on that end

I know the tank is 30 or cause I build a lot of 250 s but give me the length and I will help you ou on the rest
