First run after work last night. Ran really well for a first try. Just ran it wide open to cure everything and see how fast she will go.
10 minutes after start up.
10 min after start up.
Main Chamber 50 min.
Main Chamber after 50 minutes
Oven / Vertical 50 min.
Oven / Vertical after 50 minutes
Oven / Vertical got to 470 at the peek but I only used 12-15 lbs of kingsford blue bag for the test of the oven, two hours later it was still over 370 .
The main chamber got to 370-380 and held for the same amount of time above 300 for two maybe two and a half hours.
Once they cooled off I loaded the large box up with more charcoal and re light her. Cooked a pork butt overnight sorry for no q view the phone was out of battery power and the charger was at the girlfriends house.....The butt smelled a little too smokey this morning at 6:30 when I took them out for dad to finish in the oven, I think I over loaded the coal box because the fire churned slow for too long in the beginning. Lesson learned time to try again .
Planning another cook tonight maybe run her hot and smoke a top round or something like that just to see what it takes to get a good clean burn.
If it ain't BBQ it ain't food.

Envious - the most fun part of this hobby - getting acquainted with a new smoker ….
Keep us posted through the process …
And on the eighth day God created barbecue …. because he DOES love us and he wants us to be happy.
Current smokers: Egor (trailered RF) and Easybake (tabletop pellet drive)
This rig works great! I have run it 3 times now and learned more each time. Last night I used the BBQ guru control again to get more acquainted with it and the pit.
Guru running at 299
Love the Guru for sure.
Smoked a eye of the round because they were on sale and I knew I could do a short hotter cook with it.
Came out pretty good.
Now onto a whole hog this weekend! Talk about jumping into the fire!

Keep the posts coming I want to know more about your experience with the smoker and the Guru. I may want to get one myself. But I do agree with DC, hehe
Current Smokers: Backyard RF Offset and Hybrid RF Offset trailer rig with Cowboy cooker and fish fryer, always room for more........
Well the low cost trailer got me though the first few events that I had booked this winter/ spring before the smoker was finished. But the lite duty cross members were bowing more and more with each mile I towed the trailer.
So I picked up my own welder and Plasma cutter combo from Eastwood to help me fix the trailer and to speed up building the rest of the equipment I have planned for the trailer I used to have to drive 35 min each way to work on the smoker because the welder was at the race shop I used to work out of since it was the teams welder it had to stay there. Here is the welder
I did not have enough cash to buy a tank of shield gas so I picked up some flux core wire and put in the new cross members in the trailer. I have to say so far I like the welder and for the first time using flux core wire I was able to do some good beads with it.
