I got the tanks nested. They are a little off but a little wedging should make it right.

WARNING: the following pushes the limits of this being a family website!!!

Like an aging lady, gravity started working against me. The inner tank started twisting and I think that is why my gaps are off.

I got as far on the chamber where the firebox will mate to it as I could on my own. I got the inner tank all aligned using clamps. I got the inner tank for the firebox ready. I've got help coming Thursday night so I am trying to get as much ready as I can.

Again the plans call for 331 sq in on the chamber opening and it is 364 right now. Should I take it down or leave it?

I would leave it as well… The plans are going to have a little bit of tolerance allowed and you should be well within that acceptable range…

You are doing great. When you first told us what you were going to build I thought wow that is going to be a lot of work. And it is, but your getting it done and it will be a very efficient cooker. I don't know how much of a difference for sure, but it will be a lot I'm sure of that. NICE WORK!

Thanks RodCrafter.

Got most of the trailer done. I need a new liner in my gun or it would be done.

Tonight is the night when nothing went right. Mostly due to me.

I finished welding the trailer and centered the axles and got the wheels on with the goal of getting the chamber on the trailer before it rains.

Went to get the backhoe and got it 30 ft out of shed and it died. I ended up
Bypassing the in line filter later and that got it running. Still had the fuel filter FYI.

So I had to muscle the tank over on its side to cut the drain pipe in. Well I cut before I thought it through and had to cut the outer tank three times and the inner tank twice. This happened to me on my last build too when installing an air damper on a curved tank. You start cutting and welding so fast you dont even know what happened. THEN I started buttoning up the outer tank before I had the drain pipe welded to the inner tank. This is when I yelled some choice words and closed up shop!!!

I have all weekend to work on it so if I have to put a pop up tent over it to finish the drain in the rain I will!!!

I am sure others have had similar experiences with your builds. This picture is UGLY!!

I got a few solid hours in today. Ready to cut outer chamber and mate the inner firebox.

It's on the trailer and inside now so that makes me feel better.

BBQ is just smoke and beers!
Usually more beers than smoke.

Got the chamber opening cut out, grinded, and insulated. Got the doors trimmed out with strap. Got the rack guides on the door frame. I somehow plugged the oxygen hole on a torch tip or the FB would be started. Things are progressing.
