Volume is the key Harry! On my big cooker I will have a square and a rectangle.
Good to hear from ya!

Oh and DC will be released shortly, he is beyond help! :bigfoot:

BBQ is just smoke and beers!
Usually more beers than smoke.

I like to give my fire all the height I can to make sure the sticks can burn effectively. So as long as I have at least 24" in height then I can figure the rest of it out in square inches.

Current Smokers: Backyard RF Offset and Hybrid RF Offset trailer rig with Cowboy cooker and fish fryer, always room for more........

I'm gonna toss in a thought here but if the pros want to set me straight I'm game for that. When I visualize a long firebox extending away from the CC I'm thinking that's a bunch of heat banging against the top that is going to be transferring to the outside air rather than through the metal adjacent to the smoker. I think that if you are planning on having an extended firebox then the placement of your basket inside really comes into play. If the fire basket is allowed to be positioned near the door then the efficiency of that burn is going to be considerably lower that say an equal burn that has the basket snugged up against the CC wall. for what its worth that my thought on this one.

If it can't be smoked .... try frying it. It that don't work, it's probably best just left alone

Your dimensions are a little concerning Harry. I would make the width close the the same size as the diameter of the tank which will cut down the length. You will gain efficiency and get a better proportioned look.
