Got a little more work done this morning, I've got the baffle plate in. This is the only picture I got today
I got the flange on the door, and the flat bar bowed the door a little bit. Not so much I can't fix it though. Tomorrow I will make the hinges and mount the door.
And on the eighth day God created barbecue …. because he DOES love us and he wants us to be happy.

Got a little more shop time this morning.
Got the grate made, and slide rails mounted in, also got two clamps mounted to the tank to apply slight pressure on the lid to hold it closed. Didn't have the need on my 250gal build as the doors were plenty heavy enough.
Update, I've had a couple more days to finish working on the build.
Now that is built I wanted to do a test cook in it, JIC I need to make any adjustments prior to painting.
temp holds steady
put on a Boston Butt as I wanted something to truly test out the consistency of the heat.
good burning fire provided just the right amount of smoke/heat
here is about 2 hours in, I don't usually check the meat after only 2hrs but with the smaller cook Chamber I wasn't sure if that would effect the cooking times.
here is after 4hours
Here is where I flipped and sauced it at the 4hr point.
And now it was done after 7.5 hours.
Once I knew it cooked good I went ahead and painted it.
Then I reattached the thermometer and removed the tape from the red handles, and this is the end result.
Hope this helps others decide if this size is right for them, as this tank is commonly available.
I've been thinking about an RF for when I'm just cooking for the wife and I - this looks like the perfect size to be a "Mom and me" model….
