My fishing and Hunting buddy found an old 60 gal compressor tank in his parents farm shop. Compressor is locked up but tank seemed ok.

Looks like we will have a mid sized party model soon.

coma44 - great find!

I'm doing an air tank right now so please understand I'm only sharing my experience here ….

Word of caution - as soon as you can get inside of it check the bottom of the tank (original bottom) with a flashlight in a dark shop to make sure you don't have any pinholes. Air tanks like to rust from the inside out so they can look fine but might need some patching before you get too serious about the build…. fwiw.

Holes in the bottom are how I got my tank but mine was a 60 gallon verticle so all I had to do was cut off one endbell and flat side it to attach to the fire box and stack.

Word of caution, air tanks can be subject to serious warpage even with minimal welding.
