Sorry guys I haven't fallen off the waggon just a rough two weeks. First my wife got into a wreck after some stupid girl with no license or insurance ran a stop sign. Then I got some bad diesel in my truck and last but not least after I got all the diesel out and drove for two days thinking everything was fine my fuel pump went out. :hijack: :headwall: . Next week maybe!

Gah... Life man! It's ugly sometimes... Is the bride "ok"? Sorry you've had a rough go man. Hope it gets better soon!

Should have it done Saturday. I have a question for you guys. When I first put the firebox on it torqued a little bit. I thought it would be fine and I know the welds will hold it's just an appearance thing that it is bothering me. You can really see that it slants when both doors are open. Should I cut the fire box off and put it back on level or leave it alone and enjoy the bbq? This is my first smoker build and I haven't welded anything in years. I don't know what to do, my father in law won't care, but I don't want him to think I just slapped it together. Anyway here are some pics from today.

Just enjoy it ….

If it were me I would say that "It's good enough for the girls I date!"

….. but I would not recommend you say that to your father-in-law ….. just sayin' :D

Yep, let it ride. I bet you can't see it from your house. I know I can't.

BBQ is just smoke and beers!
Usually more beers than smoke.

Get to cooking at times I think it has to be perfect and in trying to make it better I usually. Make it worse it's hard to realize some times life's little imperfections is not imperfections it's just character built right in

If your "Q" has a crooked flavor you can always cut it off and re-weld it straighter…. just sayin'

We try to be helpful here ya know? :D

Thanks guys... No crooked bbq. I should get all the finishing touches done Saturday then ready to paint right on time. Should I find some high temp primer or just does it not need primer. My buddy is going to let me use his paint booth and gun (he has a body shop) so it should look real nice :kewl:

I vote to leave the FB alone. Since you have access to a paint booth I say give it a good high temp primer and then high temp paint. I believe the paint job will last longer.

Made some mounts for a small shelf and cut and stained a piece of wood. Plan to paint tomorrow and Tuesday if needed.
