Round versis square chimney

Post by Bart » December 19th, 2013, 5:26 pm

The calculator is determining that I need a chimney with roughly 306 cubic inches and 43” in length. I’m planning on using square tubing instead of round for my chimney and if I use square at the same length as recommended round, then my volume will be around 396 cubic inches. Can I reduce the square chimney length to equal the volume of the round or is the length more critical than the volume?

Yes, you can reduce the length. Many people try to make it long enough to keep the smoke out of your eyes. But it is up to you.
