Gizmo, I really like your FB. You gave me motivation so I started cutting pieces for my next project. I have enough plate for all but one piece of the firebox. I plan on getting some more plate after the holidays.
And on the eighth day God created barbecue …. because he DOES love us and he wants us to be happy.
Current smokers: Egor (trailered RF) and Easybake (tabletop pellet drive)
My son is home for Christmas and looking for something fun to do.
…. so I let him weld in the grate rails on Egor's sidewalls.

…. lining up the BP guidelines at the top edge of the throat across the back and both sides….
Fitting the sides in place…. gee I hope those rails line up….
Checking the front panel for fit. It looks close enough I should be able to finish squaring the sides and it will fit …..
:welder:I love this part …. in just a few minutes it goes from a stack of jibbles to looking like a cooker…..
NOBODY should have this much fun!

Beautiful looking rig. I have a few questions if you won't mind.
What kind of smoker is this classified as?
Will you be placing it on a rolling frame?
About how long is the width again?
Will the door fold up or down?
I remember your saying that the fire rope channel is painted so you can silicone it in? Does the rope ever peel out or lose grip from its mounting position and is a painted surface necessary for that to stay in place?
If this is NoT an RF design, does the pit calculator need to use a different set of calculations?
My sister in law in VT asked me if I was going into the BBQ business when I sent her a few pictures today of the smoker and trailer. My answer was " No, just dinner" but gee willikers I would like to try and build a smoker along the size of Earl but rectangular and on a light rolling frame. So, that's why I ask
Make no mistake, there ain't no powder in this Puff ! And... I'm not really a crazy person but I play one in real life
