FB first build

Post by Bart » February 10th, 2014, 12:32 am

Building a FB for an 80 gallon compressor tank and for my first build I'm real pleased with the results. Got the main door done and also have a door at the base of the box to empty out the ash. Next step is to fab up the latches for both doors and then weld it to the cc. Always get a little nervous on a first build of any kind when I have a lot invested in materials. So far I think it is coming together well. Any feedback from any of you would be appreciated.

Looks like you got a handle on this one … pun intended….

How much (if any) sag are you getting from those hinges? they look hell for stout but this is the stage to check that in case you need to adjust for it… :D

And on the eighth day God created barbecue …. because he DOES love us and he wants us to be happy. :D

No sag, and they pivot smoothly. Little worried they might tighten up once I get some heat built up, But I figure I can either spread the ears of the hinge base or file down the door side of the hinge.

Handles are next weekends project :)

BBQ is just smoke and beers!
Usually more beers than smoke.
