I used a jigsaw and a sawsall. Surprisingly the sawsall cuts a nice straight line with ease..Pete Mazz wrote:Yea, the doctor told him his hands will stop shaking eventually.....Rev.Mike wrote:i think it was puff that made all his cuts with a cut off wheel and a sawsall, its amazing what you can do when limited on tools!
Thats pretty much what I was looking to do, The bottom rack is on a single angle so even it can slide out. The bottom 3 racks are going to be 27 1/2" x 42" and the top should be around 16" x 42". To answer MOSMOKE I'm Thinking it can feed allot of people, not really sure. With that many racks you can put in something like 40 racks of ribs.. More than I ever plan on cooking.Rodcrafter wrote:I would use the angle and make sliding tracks so the shelves can slide in and out. That way you can remove them if need be. I'd put the about every 4 inches, and you could get 4 levels in that bad boy. I know you wouldn't need that many all the time but when you did you would have it.

The gap between the baffle plate and the chamber wall is about 6". The opening is 110% of the firebox to cook chamber opening. I can't see the harm in it being a little larger. The baffle plate is 42" long and so is my door so it just fits.Mo Smoke wrote:Got some dimesion questions for you. How big is the gap between the BP and the wall of the cooker? What are the spacings between racks and baffle plate now that you decided to go with 3 racks instead of 4? What diameter and length pipe are you going with for your exhaust? Can't wait to see the next run of pics bro. You are my inspiration at the moment !!! Keep it going.
