FB & Warming Cabinet Question

Post by Simpleaim » February 11th, 2016, 4:36 pm

Is the FB and warming cabinet 2 separate boxes or do they share anything common? Like top of FB and bottom of WC? I've looked through a lot pictures on here and other places but it's hard to tell.

Thank you,

Ken

I'm definitely no expert but, from the threads I've read, the FB to WC plate is common.

Check out these two threads, they should answer all questions. :kewl:

I think there is some merit to insulating between the two. If you don’t you may have some issues with overheating. Disclaimer...I have 0 experience with warming cabinets.

If you share a common plate, be sure that you have an opening on the WC so you can let the heat out to regulate the temp in the WC.

Yep what Big T said! You will need to let cool air into the WC if they share the plate. Mine is insulated, and I can almost have ambient temp in the WC with the rest of my CC(s) running cooking temps. Or I can have it 400* and the others 225

Ditto these guys!!! Rule of thumb I was told was to allow a 2" air gap that could be insulated between the FB and WB. Clover Ridge has a really nice RF w/ WB/VC. You can turn the WB into VC. Have a damper between the CC and WB. Also install a damper from the FB to WB. It's the versatility of a RF!!!

One other thing. From the great guys here advice I have dampers on my WB also. They recommended them since I insulated it. To allow some cool air in incase it's warmer than I want for a WB.
First cook this past Saturday. I used it and it worked like an oven!!!

FC you have such an awesome rig because you were willing to do whatever it took to get the very best outcome. It cost you a lot of money and labor, but it will be paying you back for many years to come.
