It's aesthetically ugly, but it saves me the metal for firebox construction.
What do you think about it ?

It'll look great once you start putting it together and the round end will work fine.

One thing you should consider is the height of the cc will be 60" from the ground with the FB sitting on the ground. I don't think this would work because you would have to be 8' tall to open the door unless you make cabinet doors and if you were doing that you would have a square FB.

Thanks, I had not thought about it yet.
I have to shorten the cylinder, cut my right hat, then cut a slice of 20 "from the cylinder and then put the hat back in place again.
All right as a solution?
Then I'll add square FB.

I wouldn't worry about putting the dome back on, that way you have a flat surface for the FB to butt up to (yeah, I said butt, hehehe) & much more simple to get the throat right :kewl:
