where to buy smoke stack pipe

I am working on my first build and I would like to know where is the easiest and/or best places to purchase the pipe for the smoke stack? Is there a recommended thickness for a standard 100 lbs propane tank?

There’s no recommended thickness, just the overall volume. I’m not sure where you’re located so I don’t know what your options are for buying pipe but a lot of guys buy theirs from scrap yards.

I would start by calling a steel supply yard in your area. If they don’t have it ask them who would. 4 inch pipe is pretty common and you should be able to purchase it by the foot.

I picked up a piece of truck exhaust pipe. I used 3inch on my 100# propane tank build. It was pretty cheap and readly available.

Might try a local mechanical contractor, they will normally have small drops they'll part with for some doughnut money.
