Yes, all parts were made with 3/16 plate. When I started this all I had for a welder was a Craftsman 80 amp welder. I now have a Lincoln 180 Dual voltage.

I have learned over the years there’s a huge difference in a “home” welder and a commercial welding machine. I will never buy a buzz box again.

Im looking at 3/16 for my fire box, It will fit it in my budget and my little DC welder can weld up to 3/32 7018 so if it works for you in Alaska it should hold up fine here in Texas!

The Cylinder is 47in in diameter by 40in long. I have not cut into the cylinder yet but I'm guessing on my ID numbers.

Smokingmeat Numbers:
14.59 x 14.59 x .7854 x 39.5 = 6603.87 / 231 = 28.59 Gallons

Hi folks.
I'm late the the game, but have a question.

a 47" diameter tank 40" tall is about 250 gallons.

I didn't read where this was addressed

what am I missing?

I saw that he kept putting the diameter as 47''and I'm not sure why but his build sheet was correct with a diameter of 14.5''

For a good first time welder Harbor Freight Tools has some outstanding mig welders for about $125-150. They also have a welding book $15. I think Haynes manual that’s awesome.
