Archuleta family reunion smoker

Post by bstory » May 16th, 2018, 8:47 pm

It’s a little sketchy, but it’s at working height. Now I just have to get the axle on the trailer and marry them!

A little less sketchy. The smoker is mounted on the trailer.

It's really starting to come together. Is the grease drain directly above the cross member on your trailer or does the picture make it look that way ?

Yes, that would be a bugger. Might have to put an offset in the grease drain...

Yep I have two weeks left before my surgery to get it cook ready. All I have left is put the axle on, the doors, rack in the firebox, racks in the charcoal grill, and the tongue. Then it will pull and cook and I can finish everything else after I have rehabilitated my shoulder.

Wow that is a great plan, coming together. I hate the surgery part, but thrilled for your nearing completion of this rig.

Could you upload more pictures of the charcoal grill? I want to add one to my rig, but I need design ideas.

I don’t have any other than of just a box for now, but I will take some when I get the guts done on it.
I plan on putting one rack for charcoal with a pan under it to collect the ash. One rack for meat 46”x23”. I am going to put multiple slides so I can cook at different heights away from the fire.

Archuleta family reunion smoker

Post by bstory » May 22nd, 2018, 9:46 am

Just a shout of to Frank.
I have bought multiple sets of plans from Frank and the plans say to feel free to contact him with questions. This set of plans for Mack is the first time I have used this benefit. He has gone above and beyond and out of his way to help me. Best customer service ever.

THANKS FRANK

Frank, did you guys make one from you plans. I’d like to see a picture of the Mack. The picture of the purple one on the smokerplans website of the DP sold me on that. I’m a visual kind of guy.

Cheers!

Heck yeah buddy!
Here’s the original thread. We built Mack™️ Years before we made the plans. I have enjoyed cooking on that pit very much!
