This is actually the third smoker I worked on.

Look at the wheels. I saw your pic and said out loud...... WOW thats what I did. Mine had a hitch though.
First contest I took it to. I had to take my zero turn mower so that I could unload it.

The tandems are actually built on an equalizer with a common pivot point just like the big trailers. I got the idea off a reel carrier trailer at work.

Awesome Job !!!

Hey guys long time no post,

Well after several successful cooks and several months since I "finished" and still haven't had it sandblasted and painted.. And after last weekend I realize why... I want to put this thing on a small trailer. I had to take it over to my girlfriends house for an annual BBQ where I cooked for about 30 people... Man what a pain in the A$$ to get it there... I tried loading it in my Gooseneck Stock trailer only to find out the smoke stack was too tall "DUH"... So now I want to permanently mount it on a trailer.. it's small enough I don't think it warrants a full custom trailer build... and I still want to be able to move it around with say my lawn tractor etc.. So.. I've been looking at little Harbor Freight Trailers.. Yes I know probably not the best in quality..but for $224.99 you can barely by and axle and springs... so I figure this is a good starting point and I can beef it up where needed..

Check it out here: http://www.harborfreight.com/1090-lb-ca ... 90153.html

Tell me what you think!

TQ or somebody is more versed in this than me and I'm sure they'll chime in soon. …. but I bet you could use the axles, rims/tires, ball coupler, lights/harness and springs for your own trailer frame and be okay while saving money too. You can always recycle their trailer frame into the next builds …. jmtcw :D
