Currently building a 325gal RF.

Post by TheCapps » May 7th, 2017, 10:11 am

Got a working wc door handle/latch.

Image welded a 5/8 stainless bolt to the latch bar.

ImageImage welded a stainless nut inside of a piece of 1 1/2 steel tube. And threaded it onto the latch bar.

ImageImage welded in my 7/8 stainless handle.

ImageImage then welded a couple of stops to keep the handle from going any further than needed. Works like a charm!

Rails in, and built a removable heat deflector, just so it's not direct heat blasting the bottom rack, also I can put a grease pan on top of it so I don't have grease dropping into the fb.

Nice work in roping in the youngster. Keep their fertile minds occupied with positive things and they won't go looking for all the negative crap. And it jump starts their initiative and imagination.
Nice work on the handle assembly. Came out very nice. In fact it has all come out very nice. Good quality build. Well done.

Currently building a 325gal RF.

He was doing good all by himself until he came up and said "uhhhh Dad I can't use that spring it just burned it in half." That's when I taught him about the heat settings. Cranked it down a few notches and he was back at it. He had everything laid out and said "Dad I need you to weld this stuff together for me." I told him "nope, your going to weld it together."

I wanted to challenge myself a little and come up with something a little more complex and mechanical. So here is what I came up with for the dual exhaust stack caps. What do you think? It is a little tight but I think it will work in after some use.

Now you are just showing off :D

Very nice indeed. A bit of thought when into the stack dampers. Nice work indeed.

Just a little protection. Left a big section out of the bottom for a drain and access to tighten thermometer down. I welded a 1/2 bushing into the door.

Wish you all could see this beast in real life. The features on this thing are ridiculous. It's ingenious!
