I like to use square tubing for the stand but a lot of guys use angle iron. Just be sure it's heavy enough to support all of the weight of the finished cooker.
Solid all the way across until the opening on the opposite side what anout exhaust what is a good diameter pipe abd height of qhere it shpuld be placed i was thinking centered on the cc
On mine I put a shadow plate even with the top of the firebox opening and the baffle plate about an inch above that. It let me have my grates in the center of the cook chamber and about 4” between the grates and the baffle plate.
You can use the pit calculator to get the length of the stack, different diameters will change the length. I like to have the stack tall enough to keep the smoke out of my eyes but not too tall to go through the garage door. I mount the stack as high as possible on the CC and dropped in the CC just enough to get a good bead on it.
Gotcha yea my calculator came out to a 6inch diameter pipe 24.46 inches long i fpund a pipe at 24 inches long so it shouldnt hurt it bp with grease drain going in to orrow after i remove all the rust inside any tips for removing rust inside cc?
The 24'' length will be fine. There's only a few ways to remove the rust, sandblasting, some type of chemicals or a grinder and wire wheel, be sure to wear a dust mask and eye protection while using the wire wheel.
