Third Build Underway

I love cutting plate with my metal circular saw. Can't beat it with a stick. I didn't care for the Lenox diamond grinding wheel. Too slow and too noisy, I went back to burning up the old style wheels, they cut way faster.

Looking great Mankussm. Can’t wait to start another build so I can cut straight lines again. No more round fire boxes! (Till I forget what a pain in the ass it is and do one again I guess lol)

Slow and steady progress. Framing the door takes time. I like to take it slow and let my welds cool before I take off the last vice. Gives me a little more reassurance that things won’t move while getting the door so hot.

FB door framed also.

A little manipulation and persuasion, but got the door on.

Going for a metal run tomorrow. Plan to get the frame built out and lay it in the weekend.

Frame built and mounted

Dang. You almost look like you know what you’re doing. I’m impressed your tank sat so level on the jack stand after you got the frame under the firebox. Did you plan that out with math? My stands adjust in about 1” increments so getting things level w out shims, etc is a nightmare.

I did do some math but still had to shim. There are some small 1/4” pieces between the jack and CC.

I level the frame first, then level the FB/CC, measure my uprights and cut to size.

Been working my butt off lately. Just got off 24hr shift and had to get after it!

FB door on with brace.
Door stop for CC.
Lower rack rails.
