I've made some good progress this weekend, finally got some good weather and finished the firebox.

Thanks guys! I'm dangerously close to having this joker done... All I lack now is finishing! I think I can get it cooking by the weekend, just in time for Christmas dinner. It probably won't get painted until after, but that's ok.

Well, like I said, I'm dangerously close to having this thing ready to cook. Here's a few more pics for you. As I stated in a previous post, it'll get painted in the spring when its warmer but I went ahead and rattle canned the exposed metal to keep it clean. The punch list is now:
1. Finish welding in the BP(ran out of rods)
2. Finish welding in stack
3. Install cooking grate
4. Install front shelf
5. Put expanded metal on bottom shelf
6. Test Burn
7. If time permits, more grinding

I need to at least get the stack wleded in, but do you think I could run it without welding out the BP?

I love bacon!

And one of the things I love about it is that it can't tell if you've welded in the BP or not ….

Ahhhh BACON!!! The perfect food…. :needfood:

I got everything done on the list lastnight except the test burn and more grinding. Since I had quite a bit more welding to do I went ahead and welded in the baffle plate, just for giggles. Tonight I will install the T-gauge and burn that puppy! Here's a few more pics, enjoy!
