as far as the squared off door size goes, PeteMazz made a calc for that under his calculators. I think you're gonna see a lot of volume increase with your door arrangement. might hafta add some firebox.

*updated pics* Nearing completion, I am starting to see all the imperfections in my work.

I am a newbie welder/fabricator. Seems like yesterday that I was learning to weld with my little Tombstone AC-buzz box. This project has taught me tons about metallurgy in general. And I now have the bug. Currently brainstorming ideas for the next!

First test burn *updated pics

I installed grease drains on the horizontal and vertical cabinet today. Couldn't resist the urge to fire her up. Had an exceptionally clean burn.

I am seeing 20 degree temp differences from bottom to top. The front of the horizontal chamber is the hottest zone. Quite unexpected.

The right vertical chamber runs 40 degrees cooler than the horizontal. I plan to change my damper system to help even those temps out. I'm a happy camper!

First cook is still a few weeks off. Hope to have the smoker sand blasted and painted by memorial day weekend.. Then the question will be: what's NOT planned for the first cook. Lol.

Hey guys, what hardware combination should I use to make this a rotating latch? I tried a regular bolt, washer, spring setup, but it worked it's way loose every time I rotated it. Thanks.

Got it, shoulder bolts.

Now to start improving the trailer. Started by cutting the old fenders off. I'm starting to realize that I did things out of order.

You would be surprised but it can run the same temperature in all three or I can get 100* different in the 2 left of the FB and the VC above the FB cold as the ambient temperature outside or control it GF or stick burner and run any cooking temperature. It sounds like bragging, and yes it is. But I got it from this site and the folks I have met over the years.

I usually get it set the way I want it and then weld the nut to the bolt...no more loosey goosey after that.
