Usually more beers than smoke.

Whoa! Nice finish. Do you think it could discolor much with use? All you need now are a few orange flames across the bottom !

Bet it feels good to be on the finish line

Make no mistake, there ain't no powder in this Puff ! And... I'm not really a crazy person but I play one in real life

Thanks again fellas, Gizmo I didn't notice any other colors but Wally World was packed and I was in a hurry. Puff I guess time will tell on the discoloration but I figured if it does I'll spray over it with something else.

Stayed Right There All Day
I have a lot more ideas for my smoker but since I plan on keeping this one I figured I'll have plenty of time to do all that. I'm ready to do some cooking on it. I ran several test fires through it over the last few days and I think all the hard work is about to payoff ! I was able to maintain 230-240 degree's with a small fire and only adding 1 split about every hour and 20 minutes or so. I was able to run it up to about 325 with the same fire but I had to add a split about every 45 minutes. I was running my tests while I was at work so I wasn't able to get into some more advanced adjustments. They're calling for 90% rain tomorrow so I'm hoping to get it seasoned Sunday and do my first cook on New Years Eve.

After many set backs due to the weather and my holiday schedule the first cook day has arrived and was a success. I done 3 racks of ribs with 3 different seasonings and 3 different sauces and we couldn't figure out which one was best so we ate all of them.

There is no feeling like the good feeling you get from that first successful cook in a new smoker!

It's been a while since I built this one and this thing is a Beast! The only problem was that the silver high temp paint didn't hold up very well, so I decided to paint it a different color.

Fresh coat of high temp black paint
We entered a small charity cook off (first time ever) and we took 2nd in ribs and 2nd in chicken.

Brought home the hardware
We are looking forward to the next one !!
