I going to come up with something using some more stainless bar keeping the same styling as the cc doors.

Lol, let me properly introduce HisBiggestFan! That is my wife. She joined so she could get the detailed rundown on the smoker build. She's a beautiful patient lady, putting up with me putting a lot of hours into this rig after coming home from 10+HR work days. I love you HisBiggestFan!

Currently building a 325gal RF.

Three pipes. Got the top in the wc, and a stack tacked in.
Progress today was slow. It is crazy windy, screwing up my welding. Ripped my flag and broke my eagle from atop the pole.

That's an 8x12.

Those triple stacks look good! The wind has been blowing like that down here for the last few days. It's always good to have the Mrs. on board with the build!

That's great to have the whole team on board. My wife calls my trailer rig the other woman.

Started on my wc door latch today. Here's where I am at so far:
Image
Image
I have two of these, one towards the top one towards the bottom.

Image I welded two little 3/16 pads onto the door,so the door paint won't end up scraping off with the slide action of the 1/4 flat bar.

Image Drilled a 1/2 hole through the door, 3/16 pad and the 1/4 flat bar. Then inserted a bronze bushing into the hole from the outside.

Image Ground down the excess bronze bushing material.

Image welded in a grade 5 3/8 bolt.

Image then topped it off with a stainless acorn nut.

Image I will have a stainless bar attached to both bars so I can pick up on the bar and pull the door open. I will weld something over the 1/4 flat bar so it can't be pulled and bent. It's a start. I think it will work out good.

Coming along nicely. The latch assembly looks like it will be pretty neat.
