120 gallon propane tank

Post by smokeyjoe » July 10th, 2012, 6:20 pm

I have a friend who works for a local gas company and they have a 120 gallon upright tank that I can probably get for free or at the most $30. I was wondering if this would make a decent smoker. If so would you guys recommend using it upright or vertical? Next are there plans available for a 120 gallon tank on here? I want to make it reverse flow and have read about a calculator that helps in determining what size fire box to use and such but for the life of me can't find it. Would you guys please point me in the direction of the ever elusive smoker construction calculator please? I'd be forever in your debt. Thanks for any help................."The Computer Dummy" AKA JOE

Thank you Frank. I can't post pics since I don't have the tank yet. I wanted to see if it was worth persuing before I got the tank. When I do I'll pop up a couple. I appreciate the help. JOE

got my welder about 2 weeks ago Lincoln 140hd I cant wait to get started might be nice to work along with some one else with the same tank. I have seen alot of smokers with this tank so I have some good ideas.
