Question about best option for my needs.

Post by f5air » March 2nd, 2014, 11:43 pm

Well after a few small events for friends, I ecided to make smoke food like ribs, briskets for catering and maybe small school fairs. I use my small weber grill and gas grill too but i dont have any idea about bigger smoker optios.

My idea is to put at least 2-3 briskets(10 pounds each) at least 10-20 bbb ribs at the same time and do not spend too much time controling the temp. I know it will take time to learn about temperature control and kind of things to get the best results buy i feel like i dont have any idea of where to start. How big? The best design?

Thanks!

Probably a 150 gallon reverse flow or a cabinet cooker design

Cabinets.....most reverse flows get built on trailers...

While a cabinet would require less space, one big enough for that kind of meat would be extremely big and heavy. I would think that it would be harder to transport a cabinet that big unless you put it on a trailer as well. Now a smoker like Egor that Gizmo built would be ideal if you were looking for easy transport and fairly small so storage wouldnt be a problem.
