First , THANKS to all who responded to my previous post. I appreciate the insight/advice.
Second , Frank , I have lengthened my 4" stack to 50 inches. After looking again at your reply to my first post the throat is a half moon which is 18 inches wide at the top and 6 inches tall in the middle. Is this O.K. or should I shrink the throat a little more ? I am also gathering material to build a fire basket in order to keep the fire/coals more contained. Right now the F.B. inside measurements are top to bottom 20 " , left to right 23 1/2 " , front to back 23 1/2 ". It is a square F.B.

Thanks again for your help !

The throat is fine then. Make sure your intake air is coming in below the fire grate and the intake air is forced through the fire grate instead of drafting around the sides or in back of it.

Thanks Frank. I will make sure the fire is above the air intakes. Yes , Rodcrafter , Baffle Plate is at same height and welded to the firebox. Throat also. Thanks guys !
