Here is some more of the firebox. The door, hinges and basket are done, I just have the intakes and latch left.

Looking good. Coming along very nicely.

Faught with the CC door for a lot of the day. Finally got it shaped correctly to match the profile if the tank and when I wrapped the flat bar over the curve of the tank it pulled the door out of whack again! I ended up using 2 come-a-longs and voila, the thing fits nice again.

I should have some more time to work again tomorrow so the goal is to do the FB vents, and weld out the top of the fb and fb door.

:D Amazing how pain sharpens one's focus...

Looking good and coming along nicely. Getting closer to q-view and enjoying the unit.

When I told my wife it fell she said sarcastically “who saw that coming”!

Trying to decide what i’ll Smoke first! Most likely something cheap like ribs in case there’s a learning period!

So I’ve been working away here and there but haven’t really got much to show! I’ve spent some time straightening and reinforcing both the CC door and the Fb door that both warped when I welded them. The warping issue has got me worried about the whole contraption keeping its shape during use. I’m not quite sure what I was thinking when I decides that 1/8 plate was heavy enough for the firebox but I suspect that the warping during construction may not be the end of my problems! Oh well no use worrying about it until I know for sure. I’ve got a backup plan to rebuild the front of the fb and door with a stronger design if it comes to that anyway.

I managed to degrease, flapper wheel amd sandblast the inside of the CC in preparation to start on baffles and racks. And I do have my damper design I can show. When these things are closed i suspect it’ll be pretty airtight!

Nice progress...good, simple rack stop/tip.

I know you already thought of this but that long smokestack will roll thru the door, right? I am famous for not taking overall size onto account.

Haha! That’s something I would do! It’ll fit though. Through the man door and my overhead is 8’.
