Retired Ingersoll Rand Air-compressor tank for the CC. I am following the FREE plans, and I have all Winter to fabricate, to say F***, spit, burn and cut myself, smash fingers, sweat, freeze, get crap in my eyes (with goggles)

Any Suggestions?

That's a great tank. I say follow the plans as best as possible. Take your time and don't hurt yourself to bad. I'd hate to hear that you named your smoker the "missing hand"
I'm still gathering parts for mine. My hybrid "L" shaped is almost finished. I've done a tiny burn in it and showed signs that its gonna be super efficient and good temps too

Those plans are tried and true so I'd stick with them for your critical openings but if you want to make some cosmetic changes, I'd go for it. After all that's what makes these things truly unique and one of a kind.

I just wanted to provide a small update: i proceeded to continue to read a lot of really good projects on the RF Smoker, so now I’m a little more confused with all the “Options to try and Over-think this”?
But I will continue to follow Big T’s advice and follow the plans. (SWTPS refer above)

Here are the type of blades I’m using.
Remember cutting and grinding blades are 2 different methods when working with removing welds, right?

I use 3 different grinders when I'm welding/cutting.
1- grinding wheel
2- cutoff wheel
3- sanding flap disc
Beats the crap outta constantly changing the discs

Update: Nice Morning to be ALIVE!
Now here is the Cutting Blade I tried to post with the Slash Grinding Blade I posted Yesterday.
I need more blades or discs or whatever the correct term is, Any Suggestions on a Particular Type or Brand?

OH, I do suggest wearing Personal Protective Equipment (PPE) at ALL TIMES WHILE MAKING/FABRICATING!!!

Definitely a difference in wheels. Not saying that you need to spend top dollar but avoid the cheapest on the shelf as they are junk. You will find the nicer ones are more expensive but last much longer and cut/grind much easier. They do t seem to beat you up as much and result in less fatigue.

I have been using the dewalt xp series and have been super impressed. I typically have to order them from Grainger but definitely worth the price.

And, as mentioned....it is much more efficient to run 3 grinders if you can swing it. I hate switching out wheels so keep a grinder plugged in and ready to go with a flap (usually 80grit but 120 for finish work), a thin kerf cutoff and a grind disk.

I'll follow along, I also have the free plans, but not ready to start yet. It's worth trying flap discs out for grinding. At first they look like they can't possibly compete with a regular grinding wheel but they may just surprise you.
