What's the best way to season a UDS?

Spray it all down with a good coat of cooking oil and let it rip for a day. Keep adding your favorite wood chunks to smoke.

So I seasoned my uds yesterday and autotune my pid controller. This is after seasoning. Image

I found that as my temp probe is 300mm long it reaches the centre of the drum and was susceptible to any temp variation so I made a baffle plate this morning at work.

More oil... Coat the thing in oil then fire it up. You'll get a nice black patina on it. I like your difuser... looks familiar... :D

I'm hoping for a more even spread of heat with the diffuser
