My father in law gave me an old grinder that weighs about 30 lbs , I put the wire wheel on it and had that sucker shining in about an hour

For the price... bbq smoker supply has a really nice laser cut cook grate. It's a cut above. Just saying.

Yea I got these two bad boys finished for now , maybe some additions in the future but for now they are gifted and out of my hands. Cooked on both over Christmas . The Uds was for my father who has been crying for one for a long damn time and I gotta say I could tell he was impressed. We seasoned it for two + hours and then cooked a boston butt a beef shoulder and 7 leg quarters at once! These things can really hold some meat . On the same basket of charcoal ( half kingsford half mesquite lump) we cooked for 5 hours at 225 . Last we checked it had dropped to 190 so we pulled it off and fellas I gotta tell ya that meat was fine! Everybody in the family loved it especially the chicken which surprised me . I thought the Boston butt would be the hero but not this time. Sorry no pics but we got swept up in the whole deal and I forgot to snap any. I'm currently working on my rf smoker but I can't help feeling I have to have a barrel of my own now . I want to say thanks to everyone that helped me get through these two bad boys ..hope everyone has a merry food filled Christmas ------_ps- we were really hungry I could have opened the ball valve and went a couple more hours if we'd had the patience

I'm glad to hear that it worked out for you and your father was happy. Dollar for dollar the UDS is hard to beat.
