How to Build a Fire in an Ugly Drum Smoker.

Post by Frank_Cox » July 8th, 2012, 10:53 pm

Finally got the Video completed!
I know it is a long video, but it is worth it! The Chicken pics and the Paul Gilbert tune at the end of the video won't cost you anything so don't worry! \m/ \m/ :wsm:

Did you say Paul Gilbert? GREAT guitar player. Do you know who he started with?

Great vidio Frank! But how much charcoal and lump do you put in the basket, or do you just dump till it look right? As for who the Gilbert guy is no clue. I listen to a little different style of music. Must be the age difference. :BDHorse:

OK. When you say a clean cooker is a happy cooker (paraphrasing), how do you go about cleaning your UDS after each use? With my Brinkman R2D2, the only cleaning I ever did was to the grate and the charcoal/water bowls. Should I do more to my UDS?

Every few cooks, I'll lay it down and spray it out. If just the water won't cut it, I add a little Dawn. Be sure you re-oil it after washing it out.

I'm not lucky enough to cook in my Czarport, so when it draws a bit of moisture, I have to "defunk" it.

BBQ is just smoke and beers!
Usually more beers than smoke.

What size hole did you put in the bottom to put in the 3/4 in black pipe?
