I had to do something with the bung hole so I just added a spigot it serves no purpose but the plug didn’t take the stain very well

A while back I had thoughts of building a UDS similar to yours.

Looks awesome.

That is so cool looking! Are you cooking in it or cold smoking? From the looks of the temp gauge I would guess cooking... What is the lining like - looks white in my pic... Again - nice build! :LG:

dcman, thanks man

EDNA, i cook at 225 with it. there is no liner the white is saw dust you just have to keep it hydrated and about 4-5'' of water in the bottom while cooking (its a pain in the a$$)

Troy, lol you gotta put the smake down like i do on lisa (you better not post any stab wound pics)

Been there more then once.

Noting like the look on her face when I backed in the driveway with a 52 inch stander on the tail end of the mowing trailer.

LMAO still........I borrowed it from a friend for the wow factor.

A friend of mine owns a winery and wants me to build him one of these to do wings in - meeting with him tomorrow to "discuss" it... Way I see it is that the loading and unloading is the pain part... :)

Talked to the winery yesterday as planned - Looks like I'll get a barrel in a couple months - then I'll prolly be a pest with stupid questions getting her done... :)

OMG that is the best looking UDS I've ever seen. I don't even own a smoker yet, I am currently just using my weber kettle with some fire bricks and a water pan, but that thing is awesome. I have a question though, its probably really ignorant question, I do you keep the barrel itself from catching on fire?

Until killswitch gets back in here .... I don't think the temp range for cooking is enough to be concerned with an internal barrel fire ... You do want to keep the fire core separated from the barrel wall though ... just some legs on your ash pan/fire basket should do it ... :)
