Carolina Sauce

Post by Brewery » April 7th, 2012, 3:38 pm

Anyone have any recipes they want to share for a spicy carolina sauce? I've made a few small batches to try out recipes I've found online but nothing has really "wowed" me so far and I love a good sauce with some sliced pork :needfood:

Brewery you'll have to excuse DC - he's a meat and taters kinda guy... =))

I too have tried to find a good Carolina sauce to add to my pantry so I'll see what I can find... :)

I finally got some experimenting done and came up with my own version which we really like..
Here it is if anyone wants to try er out.

4 cups prepared mustard
2 cups apple cider
1 1/2 cups Apple Cider Vinegar
3/4 cup brown sugar
1/2 a beer
1 tablespoon Liquid Smoke
1 tablespoon Minced Garlic
1/3 tablespoon Cayenne pepper
1 beef bullion cube
"squirt" of ketchup..lol, I probably used 1/4 cup..ish

We normally stick to making tomato based sauces but the better half is a big fan of the "carolina sauces" and I often welcome a change
