The T-gauge is a generic "add to your own grill" style from home depot.
Not high budget but it fit where it needed to go.

A couple small pieces of fire stick...

fire basket actually held 9 briquettes….

Set a digital probe on the grate and started a burn clock set to high noon (it's 5:45A here…)

Hit the firestick through the charcoal grate with a torch and let burn out in the open on the disposable pan…

Torched at high noon (zero)
8 minutes - fire stick was gone - put fire basket in FB and closed door.
draft set to wide open
:30 - hit 100 - adding a degree every minute to minute and half

Nobody should have this much fun!
